  • Hypnosis is a state of altered consciousness that can be induced by a hypnotist or through self-hypnosis. During hypnosis, a person is in a highly relaxed state and their focus is directed inward, making them more open and receptive to suggestions. In this state, the critical thinking and analytical parts of the brain become less active, while the parts of the brain responsible for imagination and emotion become more active. This allows the person to become more suggestible, meaning that they are more open to accepting and acting on mindful guidance offered by the hypnotist.

  • Hypnosis is often described as a heightened state of suggestibility. By inducing as well as experiencing a relaxed and focused state of mind, the client becomes more receptive to suggestions and is more willing to internalize powerful shifts. However, it's important to note that hypnosis does not give the hypnotist complete control over the person's thoughts or actions, and the person under hypnosis always retains the ability to choose whether or not to act on the suggestions they receive as well as being selective in what is shared verbally through personal script design.

  • In general, most people can be hypnotized to some degree. However, the depth and effectiveness of hypnosis may vary from person to person. Some people may be more susceptible to hypnosis than others, depending on factors such as their personality traits, beliefs, and ability to concentrate.   • It is first important to note that hypnosis is not the same as sleep. In hypnosis, you are in a trance-like state of focused awareness, but you are not asleep. During a session, Liz will typically guide you through relaxation techniques and provide suggestions to your subconscious mind while you remain alert and aware of your surroundings.

    If you fall asleep on a consistent basis during hypnosis sessions, Liz will facilitate a discussion around possible adjustments that can be made to the sessions to better suit your needs.
